A Deep Dive into Your Wedding Dress Shopping Experience at Sero Bridal
Don’t know what to expect at your wedding dress shopping appointment? At Sero Bridal, the newest Hickory, NC wedding dress shop, we’re all about you. Read the post below to go into your dress shopping appointment with the most preparation possible!
Before Your Appointment:
Before your appointment, we highly recommend you find different styles of dresses, different details of dresses, and style inspiration that you might like. Obviously, you could go into the appointment wanting something WAY different than what you leave with, but we like to start out with an idea! If you really don’t know what styles you like until you try them on, that’s totally fine! You can try on every dress in the store until we find the one.
We also highly suggest you read our FAQs beforehand. You’ll find information here about what to bring to your appointment, what to expect as far as sizing and pricing, alterations, and more!
When You Arrive at Your Appointment:
When you and your group walk in, your consultant will be there to greet y’all and offer you some champagne/white wine! After we chit chat for a minute and get you settled, you can feel free to look around and we can start to pick out the dresses you want to try on. We will typically have some suggestions already picked out for you (based on the questionnaire you sent us) but we will NEVER pressure you into trying on anything you don’t want to.
Trying on the Gowns:
We will put one gown in the fitting room at a time for you to try on because we don’t want you to get overwhelmed or make it too crowded in there for you. When you have it on, we are there to help zip, clamp, pin, etc. before you walk out and reveal the dress to your group (unless you don’t like the dress and don’t even want to walk out in it).
Anything you don’t like about the dress we can try to pin, change, add, etc! If you want to see white under a dress that has a darker color underneath, we WILL pin another dress underneath so you can see it! Try it on with a veil, we’ll pretend bustle it… Anything you need, we can make work for you.
When you like a dress, we always want you to walk, sit, dance, move in it to make sure it is a comfortable fit and that you really, really like everything about it!
Repeat this step over and over and over until…
When You Find ✨The One✨:
First, we celebrate! And dance! And cry happy tears!
Then, after celebration time, we’ll go over ALL the customization options we offer. If you want to change the color underneath, order extra fabric or details, add buttons down the train, take away a slit, etc. we will decide on all of that!
When we have the dress exactly how you want it, I’ll continue to fill out your order form by taking your measurements so we can figure out what size to order it in, then when we get a contract + order form signed, place the order!
After this, the dress will ship in the timeline I gave you at the appointment, and when I get it in you will be the FIRST to know. We’ll schedule you a time to come try it on and we can talk about alterations, try it on with veils, and then you get to take it home with you!
We truly do have a fun, fun time at your appointments. We have a huge focus on making you and your group feel special, making you feel beautiful, being helpful with any questions you have, and helping you make MEMORIES that you will remember forever!
